RECOMMENDATION: Adopt a resolution accepting seven grants of easement and authorizing staff to record the documents with the Contra Costa County Recorder. FINANCIAL IMPACTS: A total of $11,000 has been paid to seven property owners for permanent easements related to the Martinez Sewer Renovations Project, Phase 4 (District Project 8415). BACKGROUND: As part of the Martinez Sewer Renovations Project, Phase 4 (District Project 8415), the District will install and rehabilitate approximately 10,000 feet of 6- and 8 -inch sewer pipe by open cut, pipe bursting, horizontal directional drilling, and pilot tube guided boring construction methods. Of the 41 easement sites identified for this NANFRA \8415 Martinez Phase 4 \Design Phase \7_ Design \7.14_RoW \Title \Board \5 -7 -15 Page 1 of 2 POSITION PAPER Board Meeting Date: May 7 2015 Subject: ADOPT A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING SEVEN GRANTS OF EASEMENT RELATED TO THE MARTINEZ SEWER RENOVATIONS, PHASE 4, DISTRICT PROJECT 8415, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN MARTINEZ, AND AUTHORIZING THEIR RECORDING project, a total of 33 new easements have been acquired, including the seven easements which are subject to this position paper. The remaining eight easements are in process and will be presented for Board approval at a future meeting. Board action is needed to accept these seven new permanent easements from the property owners named above. RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION: Adopt a resolution: (1) accepting seven grants of easement related to the Martinez Sewer Renovations, Phase 4, District Project 8415, from property owners of the parcels listed in the attached proposed resolution; and, (2) authorizing staff to record the documents with the Contra Costa County Recorder. THAT the President of the Board of Directors and the Secretary of the District are hereby authorized to execute said documents for and on behalf of the District; and THAT staff is authorized to record the documents in the office of the Recorder of Contra Costa County.
