a) Public Bidding for Sludge Blending Tank Repairs, District Project

In June 2014, the Board declared an emergency to repair failing exterior shotcrete on the
sludge blending tank. After evaluating the remaining shotcrete and pre- stressing bars, it
was determined that additional repairs were not an emergency. Plans and specifications
were developed to competitively bid the repair of the sludge blending tank by patching
with new shotcrete and installing a fiber reinforced wrap to restore the structural integrity
of the tank.
This project will be advertised on December 15 and 22, 2014. The bids are scheduled to
be opened on January 12, 2015. The engineer's estimate for the repair is $300,000. The
Board may be asked to approve the construction contract on January 29, 2015.
