I Board Meeting of September 4, 2014 tINanalouf Additional Written Announcements: SOUTH NAPA EARTHQUAKE c) Napa Earthquake — Central San Condition Assessment and Aid Provided to Napa Sanitation District On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, the District received a request from Napa Sanitation District to provide assistance with determining the extent of damage to their collection system after the recent earthquake. Central San dispatched a Closed Circuit TV truck and crew to Napa the next day. Central San crews televised 68 line segments for a total footage of 17,000 linear feet. The work was completed in three days by Paul Amaral, Greg Collins, Chris Johnsen and Steve Sauter of Central San's Collection System Operations (CSO) staff. Below is a thank you letter received this week from Napa San: 1 would like to extend my gratitude for the assistance with the CCTV work that your agency helped us with last week. Your crews were able to inspect some of the larger clay mains in our system that were susceptible to damage in the earthquake. If you ever have a need for assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to contact us.... 1 will be contacting Steve Sauter to thank him and his crews. Sincerely, Todd Herrick Collection System Manager Napa Sanitation District ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES d) Kiewit Property and CoCo San Sustainable Farm Update After meeting with Contra Costa County staff to review a draft of the Land Use Permit application for the District's Kiewit property, staff incorporated comments and submitted a final application to the County last week. The application incorporates uses for the 14.8 - acre farm area as well as the remaining land for District purposes on the 33 -acre parcel. Staff expects to work with the County over the next three to four months to obtain the Permit. Additional Written Announcements September 4, 2014 Page 2 of 2 e) Payment Received for Concord Landscape Project Grant On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, staff received payment from the California Department of Water Resources (via Bay Area Clean Water Agencies) in the amount of $978,500 for the District's Proposition 84 grant for the Concord Landscape Project. The remaining 5% of the grant is expected after the final reports are submitted on the project. A REMINDER ... f) Board President Williams to Speak at Master Gardeners Sustainability Fair — Saturday, September 6, 2014 Central San will have an information table at the Master Gardeners Sustainability Fair this Saturday, September 6. The Fair will be held at Shadelands in Walnut Creek from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Board President David Williams is scheduled to speak at the start of the Fair shortly after 10 a.m.
