HomeMy WebLinkAbout06.a.1) General Manager Announcements6-a.9 Board Meeting of September 4, 2014 Written Announcements: OUT -OF -STATE CONFERENCES a) Attendance at the 29th Annual WateReuse Symposium in Dallas, Texas — September 7 -9, 2014 The WateReuse Association is holding its annual conference in Dallas, Texas from September 7 -10, 2014. Associate Engineer Nathan Hodges will be attending through the 9th. Topics covered include decentralized treatment, financial considerations of reuse projects, and water quality. Sessions also include discussion of implementation and policy issues that affect the reuse community. This event provides a unique opportunity to build relationships and network with other reuse users from across the country and around the world, hear nationally recognized speakers on topics of interest, and features an exhibit hall offering solutions and equipment to the water reuse industry. Mr. Hodges' attendance at this conference was included in the 2014 -15 Technical Training, Conference and Meetings Budget. SOUTH NAPA EARTHQUAKE b) Napa Earthquake — Central San Condition Assessment and Aid Provided to Napa Sanitation District The Plant Operations and Collection System Operations (CSO) Departments have conducted a visual inspection of the pumping stations, treatment plant, and portions of the collection system and did not observe any damage to the District's facilities resulting from the earthquake that occurred on Sunday, August 24, 2014 centered in Napa. Central San has received a request from the Napa Sanitation District to provide assistance. CSO dispatched a Closed Circuit TV truck, operator and crew member to Napa San to determine the extent of damage to their system. Central San will be reimbursed consistent with the Mutual Assistance Agreement with the California Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (CALWARN).
