HomeMy WebLinkAbout05.a.2) General Manager Written Announcements0 Board Meeting of July 17, 2014 2) Written Announcements: CONTRACTS UPDATE a) Recap of Contracts Signed by General Manager During Second Quarter 2014 The Board has asked to receive quarterly reports of the professional consulting agreements entered into by the General Manager that fall within the increased staff authority limits that became effective December 15, 2011. On that date, the limit on staff authority for professional consulting services agreements was raised by the Board from $50,000 to $100,000. This is a report of all professional agreements entered into by staff which fall within the new staff authority limits (over $50,000 and less than $100,000) as well as amendments that cause agreements to fall within this dollar range. The Board approves the annual budget which includes the expenses that come from these contracts, so these contracts are not included in this report as they historically have been within staff authority. ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES — PERMIT COUNTER b) No Delinquent Accounts to be Placed on Tax Roll for Coming Year Throughout the year, staff works to resolve illegal connections and situations involving unpaid capacity and other fees. When these remain delinquent after multiple attempts to collect, they are brought before the Board for a public hearing followed by a Board vote Written Announcements July 17, 2014 Page 2 of 2 on whether to place the charges on the Contra Costa property tax roll for collection. This is generally done in July because the deadline for placing charges on the tax roll is in August. This year, for the first year in a long while, there are no delinquencies being brought to the Board for placement on the tax roll. Staff has pursued several illegal connections, all of which have been collected.
