Emergency Work Status
• Completed demolition, removed gunite with
severe delamination and cracking.
• Discovered 2ndbroken tension bar
• Conducted field investigations by structural
engineer and tank contractor.
• Finalizing reports.
• Operations to continue limited use of tank
until finishing a permanent repair under the
contingency project.

• Currently authorized = $200,000
• Estimated Contractor costs to date
_ $ 30,000
• Estimated District Engineering,/Inspection
costs to date = $ 20,000
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
• Board continue Sludge Blending Tank
Emergency using W.C. Maloney, DN Tanks,
and District Forces
Next steps
•Continue tank evaluation. Possibly use non-
destructive methods to inspect other rods.
• Finish the emergency work by W.C. Maloney
and DN Tanks, then demobilize.
• Terminate Emergency and continue with the
contingency project to evaluate, design and
bid appropriate repair.
• Come back to the Board to award the repair
project and authorize contingency funds as
needed. = D
