SUBJECT: EXPENDITURE TO UNIVERSAL BUILDING SERVICES FOR
POWER SWEEPING
At the May 5, 2014 Finance Committee meeting, the Committee asked which facilities
were power swept for the $1,272.45 amount that was paid to Universal Building
Services (Check #199899 dated 4/17/14, invoice attached). Accounting staff
determined the cost breakdown for that particular expenditure to be as follows:

Per Roy Manes, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, power sweeping began in varying
degrees of frequency with the resurfacing of Imhoff Place in 2011, which left the road in
a condition which Director of Administration Randy Musgraves deemed hazardous, due
to excess gravel on the roadway.
According to Chris Newkirk, Senior Buyer, the 2012 rates were raised approximately 3%
for the 2013 calendar year and have remained the same for the 2014 calendar
year. Service frequencies have remained consistent over the past few years.
