TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
VIA: ROGER S. BAILEY, GENERAL MANAGER
FROM: MELODY LABELLA, PROVISIONAL ASSOCIATE ENGINEER
SUBJECT: DRAFT 2014 POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN
The draft 2014 Pollution Prevention (P2) Plan is attached. Staff prepares this Plan as
an element of our annual P2 Report, which is due to the Regional Board, as required by
our NPDES Permit, on February 28th each year.
I will be giving my annual P2 presentation at your February 20, 2014, Board Meeting to
review our many P2 accomplishments for 2013 and our 2014 P2 Plan. Please note that
the only new item that staff is suggesting for our 2014 P2 Plan is outreach on personal
care products (their proper disposal and about not purchasing products with
microplastics in them).
Lastly, the draft 2014 P2 Plan will be reviewed by the Real Estate, Environmental and
Planning Committee at their February 11, 2014 meeting.
Thank you.
