Pollution Prevention b) Highway 680 Billboard Displays "Wipes Clog Pipes" Pollution Prevention Message The billboard on Highway 680 on Mt. View Sanitary District property in Martinez will carry the following pollution prevention message for the month of September. Mt View leases the billboard to Clear Channel Communications for one month each year to display a pollution prevention message. This year's message, designed by Central San's Graphics Technician Charles Waltmire, focuses on disposable wipes. There is no cost to Central San for the billboard. Written Announcements September 5, 2013 Page 2 of 2 District Award c) District Receives the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Once again, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the District by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement is awarded to the individual(s), departments or agency designated by the government as primarily responsible for preparing the award - winning CAFR. The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
