ISSUE: A resolution of the Board of Directors is required to accept easements and to
record the documents.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt a resolution accepting grants of easements and authorizing
staff to record the documents with the Contra Costa County Recorder.
FINANCIAL IMPACTS: $30,325 will be paid for these eight permanent easements for the
Walnut Creek Sewer Renovations Project, Phase 9 (District Project 8401).
ALTERNATIVES /CONSIDERATIONS: None.
BACKGROUND: The District installed approximately 12,000 feet of sewer pipe by open -
cut and pipe- bursting methods, installation of manholes, reconnection of laterals, and
paving in Walnut Creek and Alamo as part of the Walnut Creek Sewer Renovations
Project, Phase 9 (District Project 8401). Since most of the renovation occurred within
private parcels, the District obtained Easement Purchase Agreements (EPAs) from
property owners where additional land rights were necessary to support the project work.
Once executed, the EPAs provided the necessary rights of entry for the construction work
and commitments from the property owners to execute grant of easement deeds.
Executed deeds have been received from all of the listed property owners.
RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION: Adopt a resolution accepting grants of easements
from Jeffrey P. Slusarz and Elizabeth C. Slusarz, Alexander Hexemer and Michelle
Hexemer, Edward D. Fernandez and Darlene A. Silver, Richard S. Wright, Gregory Ross
and Kelli Ross, Bradley John Reital and Lindsay Hall, Stephen L. Larmore, property
owners at 49 Margaret Drive, 1282 Rudgear Road, 849 Hawthorne Drive, 868 Holly Hill

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary
District (District) as follows:
THAT the District hereby accepts Grants of Easements (Sewer Purposes) from the
property owners in Walnut Creek, as listed in Exhibit "A" hereto, District Project 8401 —
Parcels 1, 3 -6, 11 -12, 15; and
THAT staff is authorized to record said documents in the office of the Recorder of
Contra Costa County.
