HomeMy WebLinkAbout06.a.1) Update on Emergency Management Program (Handout)SD Emergency Management Program Update: From Compliance to Readiness November 1, 2012 Shari Deutsch Safety & Risk Management Administrator Public Henllh and file Environment We met the compliance test. • Federally required classes completed by applicable District staff (ICS 100, 200, 700) - 2010 • Updated Emergency Operations Plan for SEMS and NIMS Compliance - 2010 • Minimally compliant with exercises and drill requirements - 2012 • Local Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by FEMA and CalEMA - 2011 Expand Training & Exercises Completed since July: • Introduction to Emergency Management Class with Tabletop Exercise 7/30/12 • Annual EOC activation exercise 7/31/12 • Treatment Plant Damage Assessment Team Exercise 8/15/12 • EOC Management and ICS Interface Class 9/18 -20/12 • Planning & Intelligence Section Training 10/10/12 • Logistics Section Training 10/10/12 • Finance Section Training 10/17/12 • Field Damage Assessment Team Exercise 10/23/12 TP Damage Assessment Exercise 8/15/12 fit;• .. v, A �T A, 11^, Envelopes describing `damage' were placed around the treatment plant. An Above - Ground Creek Crossing �, a Supplies and Equipment • Audit inventory and ensure that supplies in Treatment Plant and CSO emergency supply trailers are complete and current • Outfit the backup EOC at the new CSO building • Acquire other items as needed: Example: County is switching to 800 mHz radios. For interoperable communications, we will need to acquire some of these radios too. Questions?
