HomeMy WebLinkAbout07.a.4) General Manager Additional Written Announcements (Handout)lo-Al) Board Meeting of October 18, 2012 H a nd out Additional Written Announcement: Finance and Accounting g) 2011 Payroll and Compensation Data Submitted to State Controller's Office This week the Finance Division submitted payroll data for the calendar year 2011 as required by the State Controller's Office (SCO). The SCO requires cities, counties, and special districts to submit compensation data in an effort to increase government transparency. This information will be posted on the SCO website. Salary, compensation and benefit information for every employee who received a W -2 from the District for the calendar year 2011 was required to be reported. Information for elected or appointed governing officers was also required. No names or employee numbers were submitted. The reported information included department, job title, annual salary minimum and maximum, total regular pay, overtime pay, lump sum distributions, and other pay. Also reported was the District's share of pension benefits, defined benefit plan, deferred compensation, and health, dental and vision premiums broken down by employee. Accounting Technician II Janet Weeks should be recognized and thanked for applying her advanced SunGard report writing skills to this large and complex task. Awards /Recognition h) District Receives Awards for New Collection System Operations Building On October 16, 2012, the District received two awards from the Walnut Creek Action for Beauty Council at its awards banquet honoring superior design and high - quality development in Walnut Creek. The District's newest facility, the Collections System Operations Building located at 1250 Springbrook Road in Walnut Creek, was nominated along with a number of other new buildings, renovations, landscape improvements and public art in Walnut Creek. Design awards included the following categories: Commercial Building, Commercial Renovation, Architectural Design, Urban Design, Integration of Design, and Sustainable Design. It is in the latter category that the District received its first award. In bestowing this honor, the Council acknowledged the District's commitment to sustainability and eco- friendly design. The District also was honored with the People's Choice Award for the best nominee in all award categories, voted upon by the readers of Walnut Creek Magazine. Both awards will be presented to the Board at the meeting on November 1, 2012.
