The work for this project will replace /rehabilitate approximately 13,600 feet of 6 and 8 inch sewer pipe at several different sites in Orinda using directional drilling, open -cut, and pipe- bursting methods. Staff has already spoken to 35 different residents who will be affected by easement work on their property. General Update c) Pharmaceutical Program Outreach Staff has recently received a proposal from the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority (CCCSWA) that it advertise the Pharmaceutical Collection Program in its service area (Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, Lamorinda and Walnut Creek) on a quarterly basis beginning next fiscal year. The CCCSWA has budgeted funds for 2012 -13 to advertise the collection program in the Lamorinda Weekly, Valley Times, Walnut Creek Journal, and possibly Walnut Creek Magazine. The CCCSWA has requested that the District review and approve the ads prior to publication. Written Announcements March 29, 2012 Page 2 of 2 Previous outreach by both the District and the CCCSWA primarily has been through our respective websites and the websites of many of the cities and agencies in our service area. The Pipeline and other community newsletters are also used. Quarterly advertising, as proposed by CCCSWA, will most likely increase participation for the collection sites and increase the District's disposal costs. Staff will be contacting all of the collection sites in the program to notify them of the plan to increase advertising and obtain feedback on any concerns they may have about the possibility of increased participation.
