Request to Allow Trees in IHC Easements • The Walden District Improvement Association (WDIA) has requested that CCCSD allow about 30 volunteer trees to remain within the easement in Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill. • The District Code prohibits trees in easements, so staff denied the WDIA request. • WDIA has asked the Board to consider granting an exception to the prohibition. Request to Allow Trees in IHC Easements • CCCSD and Contra Costa County have cooperated to maintain a consistent and clear policy of not permitting trees in CCCSD's IHC easements. • CCCSD has not required removal of mature trees along the edge of the easements. • If additional trees are allowed to grow in the easements, removal for future maintenance access or A -Line Relief Interceptor construction could be problematic and costly. 01 3 IHC Map w e.I D IRON HORSE CORRIDOR Wale- Oran Alas to n.a ?' e 0 r. wsrw e rr r rr. I a py j w.erl r -6 = _ IHC Photos Typical 1lfew of Iron Horse Corridor Manhole Covers Along Trail Landscaped Section of Iron Morse Corridor El Request to Allow Trees in IHC Easements • Alternatives: - Deny WDIA's request.
