Adopt revised job classification for Information Technology Administrator.Central Contra Costa Sanitary District 1 BOARD OF DIRECTORS . .- J POSITION PAPER Board Meeting Date: November 17, 2011 subject: ADOPT REVISED JOB CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR Submitted By: Initiating Dept. /Div.: Debbie Ratcliff, Controller Administration /Accounting & Information Technology REVIEWED AND RECOMMENDED FOR BOARD ACTION: D. Ratcli C. Ko jrave A. Farrell ames M elly, General Mnager ISSUE: Modifications to job classification descriptions require Board approval. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the revised job classification description for Information Technology Administrator. FINANCIAL IMPACTS: None. ALTERNATIVES /CONSIDERATIONS: Do not adopt the changes, or modify as desired. BACKGROUND: At the time a position becomes vacant an opportunity is provided to review the job description, review the organization and recommend changes as needed or desired. Due to the upcoming retirement of the Information Technology Administrator, staff has reviewed the job description and is proposing modifications to reflect the current technological advances that have occurred since the last job description update in 2005, as well as experience and education requirements that could be found in comparable positions with other public agencies. An informal survey was conducted on the salary for the IT Administrator position. It appears that the current salary for the position should be competitive. No changes are being proposed at this time. The District communicated its intent to modify the job description to MS /CG on November 4, 2011, and MS /CG did not raise any concerns or objections to the proposed changes. Since the Human Resources Committee did not meet in November, this matter is being sent directly to the Board without Committee review. RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION: Adopt the revised job classification description for Information Technology Administrator.
