SUBJECT: 2012 BOARD CALENDAR — SECOND AUGUST MEETING
The draft Board Calendar for 2012 was presented to the Board at its meeting of October
6, 2011. At that time, staff pointed out that the second August meeting, which in the
past has usually been cancelled, had been added back in at Member Nejedly's request.
Member Nejedly had previously noted that the agenda packet for the first Board
meeting in September was unacceptably large due to the cancellation of the second
August meeting, and requested that it be added back in.
Member Williams subsequently submitted a comment asking that the second August
meeting be cancelled as usual, as this allows Board Members a longer period in which
to take vacation and be absent from the District during the summer.
If it is the Board's wish to cancel the second meeting in August, staff recommends that
the Budget and Finance Committee meeting be held as usual, and staff will distribute
any Board mail or news clippings throughout the month of August, which will hopefully
lighten the agenda packet for the first September Board meeting.
No other comments or proposed revisions have been received. Please provide
direction to staff regarding the second August meeting.
