SUBJECT: CSOD ADMINISTRATION, CREW, AND WAREHOUSE FACILITY,
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE, DISTRICT PROJECT 8208
Some time over the Labor Day weekend, there was a break -in at the CSO
construction site. The temporary lock on a warehouse door was beaten open
and various portable tools, extension cords, and electrical wires were found
gathered together at the entrance to the warehouse. Inside the building at the
warehouse mezzanine, a temporary water bib was found open and flooded the
warehouse floor.
The Bobo Construction superintendent reviewed the incident with the various sub
contractors, and it appears nothing was stolen. Water damage appears to be
limited to the ground floor - the mezzanine, warehouse, tool room and janitor's
closet. Some drywall and insulation were wet, and boxes of lockers stored in the
warehouse were saturated. The full extent of the water damage is still under
investigation. The cleanup and repair are not expected to delay ongoing
construction.
Based on the last construction schedule update, the Contractor is 50 calendar
days behind schedule. Construction activity continues throughout the building,
as well as in the middle and lower yards concurrently. The building drywall
installation /finishing, interior wall paint, and site asphalt paving are complete.
Ongoing construction activities include installation of the building elevator,
plumbing fixtures, casework, and lighting. Staff continues to work with the
Contractor to track progress, adjust construction activities, and find ways to catch
up on the schedule.
