Orr, P.E. and Curtis Swanson January 6, 2011 2010 -2011 Winter • Off to a wet start • First major rainfall was November 20 & 21 • Series of big storms in late December • Rainfall to date is 100 to 135% of "normal' I r- ,._ CCCSD Collection Sy stem • No capacity - related overflows • Pumping stations operated well • Emergency generators started when local power failures occurred (Orinda & Moraga) • Martinez and San Ramon PS switched over to wet weather pumps • No landslides 2 Acacia Pumping Stati ■ Serves 119 homes in northern Orinda . Lightning caused a power surge • Both pumps failed to start because solid state relays were affected by the lightning • Staff set up portable pump to convey flow • Solid state relays were replaced with mechanical relays which are resilient to power issues, some alarms were reprogrammed • Station now "working like a champ" Treatment Pl S t a ti s tics .
