ADJOURNMENT A i, Recyclee Paper ~ ~ ,-. ;~ ~ . ~ ~ Central Contra Costa Sanitary District February 24, 2006 TO: BOARD BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE FROM: RANDALL MUSGRAVES~JIIM DEBBIE RATCLIFF ,p,e SUBJECT: February 24, 2006 Finance Committee Meeting There were several outstanding questions from the last Board Budget and Finance Committee meeting which required additional staff research. The questions and answers are provided below: Page 1, 102295 Contra Costa County General Services - What type of facility is this and what were the circumstances of the overFlow? This facility is the county jail in Martinez. An overflow occurred due to a problem in the main. We have received conflicting reports as to the cause. Originally, the report indicated a root blockage. New information now indicates that the overtlow could be due to sheets and towels in the main. The facility does have a grinder to take care of this type of problem, however, it may not have been working. The overflow is still under investigation, and the check that was produced continues to be held pending resolution of the cause. Staff will report the final resolution to the Committee. 2. Page2, 159336 Alta Fence Company - What was this fence repair for? A major overflow occurred in the creek in San Ramon back in the September 2005 time frame. To access an individual's property with heavy equipment, the District had to cut through a heavy gauge chain link fence at the Twin Creek Elementary School. Alta Fence Company was used to repair this fence. 3. Page 4, 159363 Falcon Truck School - What was this class for and what instruction was involved? This is professional over-the-road training from an accredited driving school. Two CSO employees, Greg Collins and Les Szmidt, took the two-week training class, which involves both classroom work as well as hands on driving. At the end of the professional training, an individual from the Department of Motor Vehicles comes out and tests our employees for a Class A driver's license. Falcon Truck School guarantees that the trainee will receive the class A license. ~ ~ 4. Page18, 159485 Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Why did the District rent a truck? Truck #159, which is an older truck (1992), lost its transmission. A rebuilt transmission was ordered from the dealer and District staff installed the transmission. Also, the paint was flaking off the vehicle and a decision was made to have the truck repainted. This took a week at the body shop. While waiting for the parts and the installation and paint job to be finished, a vehicle had to be rented, as there was no replacement or pool vehicle to use. Pump station personnel use truck #159 on a daily basis. The truck was rented for approximately one month. ~ ~ ~ cv E E ~ ~ a~ L ~ i+ ~ ~ ~ Q ~ W ~ ~ ~ J ~ Z ~ LL W U Z ~ ~ ~ Z LL J W N m E ~ ~m a U E a ~ = ~ z ~ ~ N o ~ fO ~ .~ _ U 'm ~ ~O aU ~ 6 c N o U °~ o ~ C7 Q ~ d ~ ~ ~ U U C7 d Q 4 N N , E `uUu E„ n~ uE° Ee@ n~n ioV ;EE °~x _ U n ^E mU~ 3 ~YC O o ~+ o ~2aE o Eg'oE 3 Ecc`E E oLLLLLL U000 O C N ~ Q ~wwww V E F U Z W ~ W ~ u°u° u° m EE E W fE E °n C9~e~^o~e~~ Z °- .-°, -.°, ` .-°, ma'rc¢c~ez'. ~ ~ m J'm 'o°, o"'. ~, R o, aoo°~m° ~ o»S»a Z v Q y" N O °1 J y LL v K ~ W 1 ~ ~aaa n • E cEn ~ E o i ,°~ U¢`fi~ i ulo` o` 3 i n~ mwE V NmFu` ~ 9~p Qm~n n J~~~ ~ ~I~mot ~ ci~nm e _ E o $ 3 oV _c¢9 Om(C°a cEm c@:p fynp E _=eE LL E ° E On~=O E E 8 ~ 'cE a~ E°a oD Ev aw ~ ~ 4 T'E me 'wE o „ E~c 5~ E~- ~`vE °a°9 Eo °3> EEn uo6 . __._... . . ci o u u o,':'xp;.. ci ~ ~ E E E EE `~.~~' E E w =iy! o fqsse Fa;~;mv~u„ Efl o Y O D U o_~i~_ a o_ ~ '_''Ea°~o~Ay~s..:.~~oa°g °E ° @ L -.°,sn ~:. _ rcErc¢frc¢.a:s.w~.¢rc-,~ rcw Y S V v ~`a°° bE¢ E°~ =r` Ft~F i~~a mr UU~ _ 33a O~o' "qa' a°~o'x z ~EN VA~ - ~?E ULL Q~U aga ~~~ -~in oo~ ~aa e8 »~~g ., a a'°u N ItY ~ a" ~ ~ a,U o` °,3 U¢ ~ W0 ` O~ ~ aa ~ ~ E 6 V 3 E rc ~ O 9 r ~ ' ~ ~ E E ~ W S H O e 0 N 0 0 N N ~ Q J U~ Y E F ¢ J w m c Q g J ~ J a ~ W Z w ~ 3 5 ~ ~ e 3 Ee yc :E 8 -' ~. o a;~~ . m ~i ~om ;o - raa u "E ~• „ `s ~ Em ¢ a[~ ~ y ^ w r~-~~'" -z`, o . t a 3 . ~ . 1 • • ~ U E m q h E F o p ' ° ~ - w 8e orc ~ a os sm E 0 3 ~ _ ~ 3 u r° i 3 E " ~ ~ e 5 ~ E E 3 E f ~ ~p ~ 4 J -- °o V v$ ~ N 0 E °m y~ ~ a > N V N O e - N alv ~ 6 , z a u p 3 $ N ~ mIE ~ 20W ~6 Q 3 ~o ^~ g I
