ADJOURNMENT A c,., Recycled Paper Central Contra Costa Sanitary District December 22,2006 TO: FROM: BOARD BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE RANDALL MUSGRAVES ~M DEBBIE RATCLIFF L?~ SUBJECT: December 4, 2006 Finance Committee Meeting There were two outstanding questions from the last Board Budget and Finance Committee meeting which required additional staff research. The questions and answers are provided below: 1. Page 14, 163812 CA Emergency Physicians JMMC Concord Why does the District pay for employees to go for emergency care when injured at work when we also pay health insurance coverage for the employee? Both the Kaiser and Health Net contracts indicate that the employer will be billed for any services related to accidents at work or workers comp accidents. This is an industry standard. Basically, employer health premiums are discounted or offset by the revenue generated from work related accidents. 2. Page 19, 163844 Infilco Degremont, Inc. What type of repair was this? This purchase included repair parts such as bearings and sprockets for the bar screens in the plant. The bar screens are eight years old and in need of rebuilding. One rebuild is complete and the second one will be done in the near future. There are four bar screens in all, and the other two will be done at a later date.
