DRAFT FY 2007-08 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET and
2007 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Attached is the Draft FY 2007-08 Capital Improvement Budget (CIB) and FY 2007
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for your review. This document will be discussed with
the Capital Projects Committee at a meeting to be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March
27,2007. The Draft Equipment Budget and the Draft Information Technology
Development Plan and Budget for FY 2007-08, which form a part of the CIB document,
were issued previously and discussed at the Capital Projects Committee meeting held
on March 20, 2007.
All three budgets as well as the ten-year Capital Improvement Plan will be discussed
with the full Board at a Board Capital Program Workshop to be held on April 12, 2007.
If you would like to request discussion of a particular capital project or issue at the April
12th workshop, please call Ann Farrell at 925-229-7302 and we will be happy to
incorporate your topic(s).
Following the Committee meetings and the April 12 workshop, and after any changes
proposed by the Committee and the full Board are incorporated, the complete CIBICIP
document will be ready for review by the general public and will be the subject of a
public hearing at the May 24, 2007 Board meeting. At that time, the Board of Directors
will be asked to approve the FY 2007-08 Capital Improvement Budget and FY 2007
Capital Improvement Plan. The Capital Budget and Plan will then be formally adopted
by the Board, along with all of the District Budgets, at the June 21, 2007 Board meeting.
