Diablo Boulevard, in the City of Walnut Creek, County of Contra Costa, State of California, on the 7 -;:;h day of OctobJer, 19-48 at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. The meeting was called to order by President Weill and the follow- ing roll was called: PRESEI{T: Members Johnson, Smitten, Toland, Wadsworth and Weill ABSENT: None APPOINTJl.1ENT OF SECRETARY PRO TEM It was moved by Member Toland, seconded by Member Johnson that the Board appoint Mrs. Phillips Secretary Pro Tern. Carried unanimously. READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING It waS moved by Memb~r Toland, seconded by Member Smitten that the reading of Minutes of the previous meeting be \vai ved, and they be approved as entered. Carried unanimously. PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD President Weill nominated Member Johnson to serve as President of the Board for the coming year5. The nomination was seconded by Þ1ember Toland. It was moved and seconded that nominations be closed. The motion W8.S made and seconded th8t Memb",r Johnson be ins'called as Pres- ident for the cominF two years, the vote carried as follows: AYES: Members Smitten, Toland, Wadsworth and Weill. NOES: "~one . Member Johnson did not vote. VICE PHESIDENT Presioent Johnson nominated Member Wadsworth as Vice President, secondeð by Member Weill. Li ttlejohn, Arc)~itect for the office builc~i:1g: 'The District Board Central Contra Costa Sanitary District Walnut Creek, California Subject: Contract with Anderson-Haglund Inc. for construction of Office Building for Central Contra Costa Sanitary District. Certificate of Com'Oletion and Final Cost September 30, 1948 Gentlemen: Anderson-Haglund Inc., as contractor for office building for this Sanitary District, com~leted the work of this contract on August 24,1948. This work was given final inspection on August 23, 1948 by your Architect. It is hereby certified that all work conforms to plans and specifications. As shown in the following tabulation, the total cost of the work is $31,756.39 to the Sanitary District after deducting ~99.7l for labor, insurances, taxes, and 5% for contractors' overhead for lowering forms approximately one foot. This extra work had to be done to meet the State Highway reQuirements. As the architect was negligent he shall pay this amount to the contractor. Original Contract $30,948.00 Plus extras as follows: Extra grading to conform to State Highway grade Labor, Insurances and Taxes Overhead on above items 5% on $412.48 Drafting Room Cabinet Painting old drafting room Total Cost cabinet 317.52 94.96 20.62 450.00 25.00 $3i,856.l0 To date this Sanitary District has paid the contractor $23,211.00. This leaves the contractor due a balance of $8,545.39, pursuant to his contract, payable 35 days after acceptance of the work upon evidence that all bills for services rendered to the contractor by others shall have been paid. 10 07 48 180 It is recoMmended that the District Board accept the work of the subject contract by resolution and direct the recordation of a notice of completion. Littlejohn, Architect II The following resolution was offered by }lember Weill, seconded by Member Smitten: RESOLUTION NO. 378 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING SANITARY DISTRICT OFFICE BUILDING WHEREAS WAYNE A. LITTLEJOHN, employed as Architect by the CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT in t11e construction of the District Office at 1822 Mt. Diablo Boulevard, Walnut Creek, California, has certified to this Board that ANDERSON-HAGLUND, INC., the Contractor, has completed its contract for the construction of said office build- ing in accordance with the Plans and S~ecifications therefor, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the office building of the CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT, located at 1822 Mt. Diablo Boulevard, Walnut Creek, California, be and the same is hereby accepted, and the President and Secretary be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT a notice of completion, as provided by law and to cause the same to be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, and said Recorder is hereby authorized to record the same.
