OF THE DISTRICT BOARD OF CENTRAL
CONTRA COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT
HELD ON JULY 1. 1948
The District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District
convened in regular session at its regular place of meeting located
at 1335 Commercial Lane, in the City of Walnut Creek, County of
Contra Costa, State of California, on the 1st day of July, 1948,
at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.

OPENING BIDS FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO.2
Bids were opened and read, at 8:15 p.m. from the following
bidders:
Underground Construction Co., Oakland
Downer Corporation, Stockton
Stolte, Inc., Oakland.
The bids were referred to the Engineer for tabulation and
recommendation. '

The following resolution was offered by Director Wadsworth, sec-
onded by Director Toland:
RESOLUTION NO. 285
~mEREAS, the County Health Officer has filed with this District
Board a report stating that the conditions in the hereinafter des-
cribed area in the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District in the County
of Contra Costa ire unsanitary, unhealthful and danKerousfto ~~~ health
of the people living therein, and recommending;thåt t11š ßistrrc~ gõárd~
institute proceedings at an early date for the construction of a san-
itary sewer system to abate the unsanitary conditions, said area being
bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of the County
road designated as Monument Road (and also known as Boyd Avenue)
with the westerly boundary of the State Highway from Walnut Creek
to Concord; running thence southerly along said westerly boundary
to its intersection with the westerly boundary of the East Bay
Municipal Utility District 100 foot right of way; thence continu-
ing southerly along westô;,:'ly boundary of said 100 foot right of
way to its intersection with the dividing line between Rancho
Canada Del Hambre and Rancho Las Juntas, said intersection being
a point on the exterior boundary of the Central Contra Costa San-
itary District; thence northwesterly, westerly, northerly, west-

along said exterior boundary to a point in said boundary which
point is the northwest corner of the parcel of land described in

Contra Costa Sanitary District, Contra Costa County, State of Calif-
ornia, that it is hereby found that such necessity for the construc-
tion of a sanitary sewer system in the above described area does ex-
ist, and hereby orders that proceedings be prepared for adoption by
this Board for the construction of such sewers as recommended by the
Health Officer, said proceedings to be as provided in Division 7 of
the Street and Highway Code of the State of California, the IIImprove-
ment Act of 191111, with bonds to be issued to represent unpaid assess-
ments as provided therein.
BE IT FURTtŒR RESOLVED that the report and recommendation of the
Health Officer is hereby ordered spread upon the Minutes of this
meeting.

RESOLVED, by the District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sani-
tary District, County of Contra Costa, State of California, that the
District Engineer is hereby directed to prepare and submit to this
Board maps, diagrams, plans and specifications together with a careful
estimate of the cost and expense of constructing a sanitary sewer
system for the area within the following described boundaries, namely:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of the County

RESOLUTION OF AWARD
RESOLVED, that the District Board of Central Contra Costa Sanitary
District, Contra Costa County, State of California, having in open
session on the 1st day of July, 1948, opened, examined and publicly
declared all sealed proposals or bids offered for doing the work here-
inafter mentioned;
HEREBY rejects a¡l of said BIDS except that hereinafter mentioned,
and hereby AWARDS the Contract to the lowest, regular responsible
BIDDER, to-wit:
To STOLTE, INC., at the prices specified in their proposal for
doing said work now on file.

The work herein referred to is the construction of sanitary sewers
and appurtenances for that area, and to the extent, with the materials
and in the manner, set forth in Resolution of Intention No. 210, adopted
by said District Board on the 6th day of May, 1948, reference to which
said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for a description of said
work and improvement, and the terms and conditions under which the
same is to be done.
The Secretary of said District Board is hereby directed to pub-
lish notice of this AWARD, twice in the Walnut Kernel, a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said Sanitary District as
required by law.

CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS
The following resolutions were offered by Director Toland, sec-

RESOLUTION NO. 288
(Easement over property of W. Lawrence Shaw and Ida Noble Shaw)
WHEREAS, the District Board of the CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA SANITARY
DISTRICT has heretofore approved plans a,nd specifications prepared
by its District Engineer for the construction, under the provisions
of the Improvement Act of 1911, of a collecting lateral sanitary sewer
system in an area in and adjoining the City of Walnut Creek, County
of Contra Costa, State of California, and more particularly described
in Resolution of Intention No. 210, adopted by this Board May 6, 1948,
and proposes to award a contract for the construction of said sani-
ta,ry sewer in accordance with said plans and specifications;
NO:l, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and this Board does hereby find
and determine that the public interest, con venience and necessity
require the acquisition, construction and completion by this District
of said collecting lateral sanitary sewer system, as set forth in said
plans and specifications and that easement over the real property

maintaining of a sewer pipe therein in said sanitary sewer system,
in accordance with said plans and specifications. Said easement is
more particularly described as follows:

therefrom over the following described real property located in the
