The follow- ing roll was called: PRESENT: Dir-ectors Smitten, Toland, W'ads't'Jorth and Weill- ABSENT: Director Johnson. READING OF MINUTES It was moved by Director Smitten, seconded by Director Toland that the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be waived, and be EOtpproved as e::nter'ed.. Before submitting proposals the bidder shall be licensed in 2.ccordal1ce \vi th the provisions of Chaptel" 9 of Division III of the Business and Professions Code, Chapter 37, of the Statutes of 1939, as amended, of the State of California, which provides for the registration and licensing of contractors. Each bidder must submit with his proposal, a statement of his financial respon~ibility, technical ability and experience on the form to be furnished prospective bidders. Each bidder shall submit with his bid on the form provided, the name and address of each subcontractor including the prin- cipal suppliers of materials, and the portion of the work ivhich each subcontractor will do. If the contractor fails to name the subcontractors in his proposal, he shall be deemed to have agreed to pel"form such portion of the work himself and shall not be permi tted to subcontract said portion of viork without pl'evious written permission of the Sanitary District Board. The proposal shall be !Dade out on the form to be furnished prospective bidders, e copy of which is incorporated with the specifications, and must be e.ccompanied by a ce:ctified or cash- ier's check or bidder's bond for an amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate of the proposal, made payable to the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, sealed and filed with the Secretary thereof on or before the day and hour first above set forth, and thereafter will be publicly opened and read before Ðaid Saritary Board. The above mentioned check or bond shall be Fiven as a guar- antee that the bidder wi}l enter into contract if awarded the work, within ten (10) days after notice of the Bw8rd has been seDt to him by mail at the address riven by him in his proposal end sa~e check or bond shall be declared forfeited if the bidder refuses or ne~lects to enter into said contract within said time. The successful bidd?r will be reQuired to furnish labor and met~r181 bonds in the a~ount of fifty (50) per cent of the COD- tract price and a faithful performance bond in an amount eQual to one hundrsd (100) per cEnt of the contract price. .
