HINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED HEETING OF TIÆ DISTRICT BOARD OF CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT HELD JUNE 19 ~ 1952 The District Board of Central Contra Costa Sanitary District convened in adjourned session at its regular place of meeting located at 1822 !<ft. Diablo Bouleval"d, City of Wa.¡nut Creek, County of Contra Costa, Ste,te of CB.1ifornia, on June 19, 1952 at 8: 00 0 I clocl;: p. m. The meeting was cÐ~led to order ru1d the roll waD called: PRESENT: Members M8~ott, ~x~~~, Toland, Wadsworth and Johnson. ABSENT: Memb~r Smitten. after roll call. Member Smitten arrived i~aediate1y SETTING TAX RATE FOR FISCAL ibAR 1952-53 The Board discussed the minimum requirements for bond retire- ment and interest, and for the runnin[; expenses of the district for the fiscal year 1952-53. Member Smitten, seconded by Hember v'TadS't'Jorth, movecl the adoption of Resolution No. 738: RESOLUTION NO. 738 ~mEREAS, the District Board of the Central Contra Costa San- itary District is required to estimate the e~ount of money needed and fix the rate of taxation for District purposes and for the payment of principal and interest on outstanding bonds for ,the fiscal year 1952-53; Nevi, TJŒREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: I. That the tax for running expenses of said District be est- 8.blished e.t FORTY CENTS ($. /.¡.O) and be 1 evied on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of taxable property in the District, and that the proceeds of such levy be paid into the Running Expense Fund of said District, such levy to be for the fiscal year 1952-53. 2. That ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN THOUSAND, TlrJELVE DOLLARS and FIFTY CENTS ($119,012.50) is estimated as the sum needed for the payment of principal and interest, including interest on cotwons due and unpaid, upon outstanding bonds of Central Contra Costa Se.nitary District (Issue of 1947) for the fiscal year 1952-53; that a tax rate sufficient to raise said amount be established and levied upon each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed valua- tion of t8..xable property in the District to raise said sum and that the proceeds of such levy be paid into the said Bond Fund of said District. . 3. The.t the sum of FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FORTY':"FIVE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($5,345.00) is estimated as the sum needed for the payment of principal and interest that will be come due during the fiscal year 1952-53 on bonds of Central Contra'Costa Sanitary District (Pacbeco Highway Junction Annexation, Issue of 19L¡,8); and' subsequent that a tax rate sufficient to raise said amount be established and levied UDon on each One Hundred Dollars U~lOO. 00) of assessed valuation of. taxable property in the terri- tory covered by such annexation and within the District and the proceeds of such levy be paid into the Bond Fund of said District. Smitten, Secretary of the District Board 81 Elliott Johnson, President of the District Board COURT LITIGATION to go Mr. Nejedly was instructeèVto Los An~eles for the oral argument on the Gogo Case scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, 1952. It was moved by Member Smitten, seconded by Member Toland, and unanimously carried, that the President be authorized to sign the Cross-Complaint District vs Artukovich, and the Writ of Prohibition District vs Downer. SEHER USE CHARGE Mr. Frank Dwinnell from the floor asked if the District could charge a use tax on sewers in order to raise more funds. He was informed that the District had been considering such a means but had not come/a final conclusion. to ADJOURNlvIENT President Johnson adjourned the meeting. July ], 1952.
