Diablo Boulevard, in the City of Walnut Creek, County of Contra Costa, State of Celifornia, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. on April 6. 1950. The meeting was called to order by President Wadsworth and the following roll was called: PRESENT: ABSENT: Members Johnson, Toland. CONTINUATION OF HEARING ON ASSESSMENT LOCAL IMPROVÐ4ENT DISTRIOT No.4 Member Cornwall, seconded by.Member Toland, moved the adoption of Resolution No. 554: RESOLUTION NO. 554 CONFIffi1ING PROCEEDINGS AND ASSESSMEN~ LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO.4 WHEREAS the District Engineer of Central Contra Costa Sanitary District of Contra Costa County, State of California, filed with the Secretary of said District. on March 10, 1950, an Assessment, together with a Diagram and Engineer's Certificateattache.d thereto. to repre- sent the costs and expenses of constructing sanitary sewers and appurtenances pursuant to Resolution of Intention No. 432, adopted by the District Board of said Sanitary District on March 31, 1949, and in that portion of said District described therein as Local Im- provement District No.4, to whic,h Resolution of Intention reference is hereby made for a description of said work and improvement and the district to be assessed for the costs and expenses thereof, and for all other purposes; and . WHEREAS sa.1d Secretary gave due notice, as required by law, of the filing of said Assessment, and that Thursday, the 30th day of March, 1950, at 8:00 o'clock p.m., on said ,da.y, and the meeting place of said District Board R t 1822 Mt. Assessment Lot No. 4-30-19 and Assessment No. 4-30-19 shall be reduced to $304.00. . (2) To the Aåsessment Diagre~ shall be added a new Assessment Lot No. 4-30-29, which shall include only the northerly 100 feet' of Assessment Lot 4-30-19 and the Assessment on said Lot No. 4-30-29 shall be $152.00. (3) The Assessment Diagram in relation to Assessment Lot No. 4-32-12 shall be changed to include only the northerly 100 feet of said Assessment Lot No. 4-32-12 and the Assessment on said Lot No. 4-32-12 shall be reduced to $334.00. (5) To the Assessment Diagram shall be added a new Assessment Lot No. 4-32-16, which shall include only the southerly 100 feet of the northerly 300 feet of Assessment Lot No. 4'-32-12 and the Assessment on said Lot No. 4-32-16 shall be $334.00. (6) To the Assessment Diagram shall be added a new Assessment Lot No. 4-)2-17, which shall include only the southerly 157.86 feet of said Assessment Lot No. 4-32-12 and the Assessment on said ,Lot No. 4-32-17 shall be $426.00. (7) The Assessment Diagram in relation to Assessment Lot No. 4-56-6 sha,ll be changed to include also Assessment Lot No. 4-45-5 and Assessment Lot No. 4-45-5 and the Assessment thereon shall be e.liminated. Sprague. ~onro, Macktinger, Krebs and Lesnick, and Mesdames Carney and Spaits complained of road damages. The. Board directed the Engineer to inspect the various roads. AWARD OF OONTRAOT FOR MAIN TRUNK SEOTION VII AND MORAGA P~1P PLANT NO.1 Member Toland. seconded by Member Cornwall. moved the adoption of Resolution No. 555: RESOLUTION NO~ 555 WHEF~AS, the District Board on Thursday, March 2. 1950 authorized and did publish a call for bids on Main Trunk Section VII and Moraga Pumping Station No.1 to be loca.ted between a point northwesterly of St. Ma.ry' s College and a point on Jonas Hill Road at the south prop- erty line of the D. L. Rheem property; and WHE,=~EAS, in response to the c8,ll for bids, bids were duly opened and entered into the Minutes of the meeting of March 30, 1950 as received; AND, WHEREAS, the bid of each of the following contrBctors is the lowest responsible bid received for the portion of the work as spec- ified and as follows: Oakland Sewer Construction Company at total bid price .of $24,192.90 for construction of Main'Trunk Section VII. and P. &. J. Artukovich. Inc., at a total biã,price of $22,946.00 for construction of Moraga Pumping Station No.1. NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the bid of Oakland Sewer Construction Company at the Unit prices set forth therein be and the same is hereby accepted; and 2. The bid of P. & J. Artukovich, Inc., at the total bid price set forth therein be and the same is hereby accepted for the construction of Moraga Pumping Station No.1; and The President is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract on the behalf of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District with each of the said successful bidders. and the Secretary be and he is hereby a.uthor~zed to counter- sign the same on the behalf of the District; 3. 4. It was moved by Member Johnson, seconded by Member Cornwall, that the Board give the President and Secretary authority to enter into an agreement with the County of Contra Costa covering install- ation of sewer to 'serve the County Juvenile Home. Member Johnson, seconded by Member Toland, moved the adoption of Resolution No. 556: RESOLUTION NO. 556 IT IS HEBEBY RESOLVED BY THE District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District that the 'necessity, as a health measure, for sewers in that area and for those proceedings described in the letter of .Dr. H. L. Blum. Health Officer of Contra Costa County. addressed to,this Board and dated March 13, 1950, is by this Board similarly found to exist. Said letter is hereby re- - ferred to and made a part hereof, and ordered spread upon the Minutes of this Body. . APPROVING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT MAP It is hereby resolved by the District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, Contra Costa County, State of Cal- ifornia, that the Assessment District Map submitted by the Engineer, which indicates by a boundary line the extent of the territory in- cluded in the District proposed to be assessed for constructing a sanitary sewer system for the areas within the following described boundaries, to-wit: Beginning on the northeast boundary of the Moraga Highway at the southeast corner of Moraga Midlands as said corner and subdivision is designated on map of record in Map Book 28 on page 2 in the office of the Recorder, Contra Costa County. Wadswortþ, President of the District Board 04 06 50 8 RESOLUTION DIRECTING PREPARATION ,OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DES- IGNATING ENGINEER TO PREPARE PLANS Member Johnson, seconded by Member Toland, moved the adoption of Resolution No. 558: RESOLUTION NO. 558 BE IT RESOLVED by the District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District that the said District Board proposes to cause to be constructed in Local Improvement District 17 Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, County of Contra Costa, state of California, the following improvementE!, 'construction of sewers and appurtenances, and' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, that John L. Mason, Engineer of the District be and he is hereby directed to prepare plans and specifications ror said proposed work, together with careful estimates of the costs and expenses of'~uch work, and BE I'¡' FURTHER RESOLVED that the proceedings for such work shall be taken in accordance with the provisions of the IIImprovement Act of 1911" under Resolution of Intention to be hereafter adopted, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said John L. Mason be and he is hereby directed to prepare a map showing the boundaries and the district. to be assessed for the said proposed work and improvement. RESOLUTION APPOINTING ENGINEER DIREOTING PREPARATION OF PROCEEDINGS AND FIXING COMPENSATION AND CHARGES Member Johnson, Seconded by Member Toland, moved the a,doption of Resolution No. 559: RESOLUTION NO. 559 RESOLVED by the District Board of the Central Contra Costa Sani- tary District that John L. Mason be and he is hereby appointed Engineer of Work for the proposed doing of all necessary engineering work and exercising all of the functions provided for the office of Engineer of Work and Superintendent of Streets in the "Improvement Act of 1911" in connection withrthe improvement work known, and to be known, as the improvement of Local Improvement District No. 17 by the construction of sewers and appurtenances therein, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said John L.
