MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF
THE DISTRICT BOARD OF CENTRAL CONTRA
COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT HELD NOVEMBER 10.1949
The District Board of Central Contra Costa Sanitary District
convened in adjourned ,session at its regular place of meeting
- '
located at 1822 Mt. Diablo Boulevard, in the City of Walnut Creek,
County of Contra Costa, State of Californi~ at the hour of 8:00
o'clock p.m., on November 10, 1949.
The meeting was called to order by President Wadsworth and the
following roll was called:

Members Cornwall, Johnson, Smitten, Tola,nd and Wadsworth.

READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and were approved
as entered.
PURCHASE OF PUMP
The Manager reported to the Board that a portable pump had been
lost in transit from the Sewage Tr~atment Plant to the Orinda Pumping
Plant; that the loss had been reported to the Homelite Company and
the Shertffls office, but had not yet been found.
Board Members instructed the Manager to see that precautions
were-taken to eliminate such losses in the future.
It was moved by Member Toland, seconded by Member Smitten, and
unanimously carried, that the Board authorize the purchase of one
1-1/2" self priming pump at a cost not to exceed $200-.00.
APPROVING ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM
LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 16
Member Smitten, seconded by Member Cornwall, moved the adoption
of Resolution No. 518, approving Assessment Diagram for Local Im-
provement District No. 16.
RESOLUTION NO. 518
RESOLVED by the District Board of Central Contra Costa Sanitary
District of Contra Costa County, State of California, that the Diagram,
made by the District 'Engineer of said Sanitary District and presented
to said District Board, of the district to be assessed for the costs
and expenses of constructing sanitary sewers and appurtenances in
Local Improvement District No. 16, and in the public streets, drives,
rights of way, easements and reserves therein, in said Sanitary Dist-
rict as provided in Resolution of Intention No. 465, adopted by said
District Board on June 2, 1949, be and the same is hereby approved,
and the Secretary of said District Board is hereby directed to certify
the fact and date hereof and so notify said District Engineer.

FILING OF ASSESSMENT FOR LID

The Assessment for Local Improvement District No. 12 was
filed with the Secretary, who set the date of hearing for December
8, 1949.
RECEIVING PETITION FROM DANVILLE-ALAMO-DIABLO
, FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF AREA
A Petition for annexation of territory to the Central Contra
Costa Sanitary District was presented to the Board for considera-
tion. The petition was accompanied by the required certified
checks in the amounts of $750.00 and $800.00.
, Member Johnson asked if the petition had been checked by
legal counsel. The Manager stated that the petition had been.
Member Johnson requested, that the petition be read.
It was moved by Member Cornwall, seconded by Member Smitten,
and unanimouiy carried that the reading of the petition be waived.
Mr. J. Thaddeus Cline of Danville questioned whether or not
Mr. Raymond Van Tassell, an, affiant, had signed the petition,
that under the law the petition must be verified by one of the
signers.
The petition was checked, and Mr. Van Tasselll s signAture was
not found~ Mr. Cline requested that the Board find the p~tition
illegal.
It waS moved by Member Smitten, .seconded by Member Toland that
the petition be laid on the table for further action at. the pleas-
ure of the President of the Board. The motion carried by the
following vote: '

Member Johnson passed the vote.
ADJOURNMENT
President Wadsworth adjourned the meeting to November 17,
1949 at 8:00 o'clock p.m.
