MINUTBS OF AN ADjœRNBD RBGULAR MBETING OF THE DISTRICT BOARD CBNTRAL CamtA OOSTA SANITARY DISTRICT HELD SBPTBMBBR 25,1958 The District Board of Central Contra Costa Sanitary District convened in an Adjourned Regular Ses.ion at its regular place of meeti~g located at 1250 Spring- brook Road, Walnut Çreek, County of Contra Costa, State of California, on Septellber 25,1958, at 8100 o'clock P.M. .: The aeeting was called to order by President Fisher. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Minutes of the aeeting of Septeaber 18,1958, were approved a. presented. III. APPROVAL OP BILLS None. IV. HEARINGS None. OPENING OF BIDS - ALTAMCIJNT SLIDB JOB President Fisher called for the opening of bids for the Altaaount slide job, which were as follows: ~ P 1& ZInc. Alternate 1. Cash job - fixed cost per item Alternate 2. Cost plus on an estimated base amount George F. Casey Company Alternate 1. Cash job - fixed cost per itell Alternate 2. Cost plus on an estimated base aaount $35,000.00 $14,825.00 $27,835.00 $15,625.00 In discussing the bids with the two contractors who bid, it was determined the cost plus basis was not a guaranteed total but only percentage figures on an estimated base. Both contractors were agreeable to a cost plus basis with a aaxi.um guarantee according to the cash job unit prices submitted. After questioning, Mr. Horstkotte, District Manager-Engineer; stated it was his opinion that the quantities a. set forth in the proposal and notice to bidders would not be exceeded. After discussion, it was moved by Member Roeaer, seconded by Member Spiegl, that the District enter into a contract with George F. Casey Coapany ona cost plus basis with the cost not to exceed the unit cost basis of their low bid of $27,835.00; Mr. Nejedly, Counsel for the District, to prepare and the District to enter into, a contract on this basis. LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICt NO. 33 Mr. Bor8tkotte, District Manager-BDgiàèer, reported that Mrs. Penn had filed a claia for $580.00 for da..ge to waln~t trees caused by the cutting of roots at the time the sewers were installed.
